I just accidentially recursively deleted most of my home directory and I really don't care about some of the files which I had on there except the files on my Desktop and Documents folder (yes, I never regularly backed-up). I did a search and gave up with DataRescue and VirtualLab I believe. You ahve to pay money to get VirtualLab to recover data for you and I don't have that kind of cash right now and I really don't know how DataRescure works. I did a Through Scan and it came up with a lot of files, but I really just want just the above two folders back and. It also shows that I can recover my Documents folder,, but there is nothing in there (because I deleted it). It doesnt show what was in there before, it just shows what is in there currently (which is nothing). Any ideas?
I also used DW, but it shows a Documents folder before and one currently and they both have the same thing. Can DW recover trashed files or am I out of luck? Am I doing something wrong? Thanks a lot!
