I posted this over in the Arts & Graphics section & there were no responses... maybe someone here can help me???

Here's the full story:

I bought a G4 iMac at the end of December, because I was fired and decided to try & freelance. It has OSX 10.2.7. It was the best I could afford with my severence...

I transferred all the files of my Quark 4.1 from my old powermac to the G4... It worked ok in Classic mode.

Then a friend gave me Quark 5.0 to install, so I installed it. Every time I opened either 5.0 or 4.1, the program failed to respond after it opened. It would begin starting up, get to the "splash title window" and when I tried to click on File or Edit or anything in the menu bar, nothing whatsoever happens. And the "splash title window" (the one that says QUARKXPRESS 4.1 or 5.0) dissappeared after the program opened but left a big grey box in the middle of my screen that didn't go away until I Force Quit.

So I deleted EVERY BIT of all Quark I could find on my computer, and tried re-installing the 5.0. Still does the same thing. So Quark refuses to work on my computer.

I did two brochures using Illustrator only, but I want my Quark back...

Any ideas?

PS: I do not have large amounts of cash to apply to this problem, and I admit both Quark programs were not purchased by me...

You are probably going to limit the number of respondents since you put down that your using stolen software.

I was going to mention to contact tech support but if they ask for a serial number or something that you don’t have then your sunk there. Did clean everything up in the library folders both the system and/or the user library folder.

You best bet is to buy the software your using.
