As of this afternoon iChat stopped functioning properly on my powerbook. Occasionally it will load long enough to say that I am available, at least according to the menu bar icon and my friends' buddy lists. I don't get an error message saying the program failed or any notice that something has gone wrong.

I have the iChat AV 2.1 public beta installed, and would revert to the 2.0, but it won't load long enough for me to do that.

I also tried to use pacifist to reinstall iChat AV, but for some reason (I think I may be going crazy) I can't find it on any of the Panther install discs.

Is anyone else having this problem and know how to fix it, or at least know which number disc iChat is on so I can try using pacifist? And will doing that cause a problem if the beta is installed?

Thanks

I only installed panther using the first disc, so it is on CD 1 and not CD 2 with the additional software.

Delete your iChat/AIM prefs and you'll be just fine I have a feeling...

I deleted iChat's preferences as well as found the package to revert to iChat AV 2.0, and it's still a no go.

Thanks for the quick responses, though.

I'm still trying to find iChat in my panther install discs. It isn't listed anywhere I can see.
