I have tried repeatedly to disable Online access for a couple of old accounts in Quicken 2004. I've followed the instructions from Intuit but they don't work. I tried online chat support from Intuit and they conclued I couldn't disable the accounts because my file was corrupt.

However, I created a new data file, enabled online access for an account, and then tried to disable it. This also failed.

Does anyone know how to disable online access? To clarify, I mean in a way that will turn off the little blue dot in the Accounts list and also so that it doesn't try to check that account when you go online (I am trying to disable one of several accounts at a financial institution).

Thanks.

Export All the ones you want to keep then remove everything that has to do with quicken, re-install and import everything you exported back in. That is how I ended up doing it with one of mine that was being stubborn.

I tried doing that but all the balances for my accounts end up hosed. I've been using quicken for forever. Maybe that has something to do with it. Or possibly there is a corruption some where that keeps it from properly exporting.
