Anyone have any idea why some fonts that are active within FAP and appear in other design apps such as Photoshop, Illustrator & InDesign... are NOT showing-up in QuarkXPress (v6 or v6.1).

The fonts activate fine... they display fine in FAP, they display and print fine in other applications, but for some reason, they do not even APPEAR in QXP. There are quite a few fonts with this behavior. They are Type-1, postscript fonts.

QXP has been doing this to me since I upgraded...

On the PLUS side... now that I'm on OSX and using QXP6 & FAP... I can actually use the occasional WinPC TrueType font(s) that clients supply... but back to the topic at-hand, I cannot figure out why SOME fonts just don't show-up.

And no... they aren't appearing under a different name or sub-heading such as ITC or URW... I scoured the ENTIRE LIST.

Thanks in advance.

EDIT: Other side notes - yes, I have auto activation on and the plug-ins to enable it, yes, I've quit & relaunched QXP numerous times... and finally, yes, I have rebooted the machine numerous times. Just wanted to clear-away those suggestions since I've tried them. Thnx.

You don't have Norton Installed by chance do you?

Nope. No NrtUtil... no NortAV... The only 3rd-part stuff I have running (which I disabled just to test) is Konfabulator. It makes no difference when disabled.

* Sigh *

Yet another ghost in the machine...
