I was wondering how many bit torrent programs are out there for mac? I know of the official one and this one http://www.sarwat.net/bittorrent/ (which I Use).
None of them are the greatest, I noticed when I try to control my upload speeds with the sarwat one all my downloads speeds go down big time. I upload at 60k, yet I download at 10k. It kind of sucks, thats why I was wondering what I can do and what is out there?

yes it is for Mac. I don't have a PeeCee do I?

This being a Mac forum it kind of goes without saying.

Azureus is indeed a Java app and is open source. It is therefore available on every platform.

Link is http://azureus.sourceforge.net/

and is in fact the first link that appears when you Google for the word 'azureus'.

Direct download to latest Mac OS X build: http://sourceforge.net/project/showf...group_id=84122

I'd like ABC to make it over to the Mac, it's opensource and based on Shadow's client.

I have the same problem from time to time, I dont understand it. It has basically happened a lot to me in the past couple of weeks. My upload speeds have been almost double that of my download speeds. I'm using azureus right now, the download speeds seem to jump a lot between 10-60k all the time. I guess I am willing to put up with that, over my previous bit torrent clients. Also azureus gives you a lot more information and options, which I like.

For eettee users, how is the client and do you like it?

For Azureus users, have you changed any default settings that have increased your download speeds? Azureus seems to be a hog on memory too.

Azureus is a Java app => memory hog.

There is no way around it, as soon as an app starts the Java engine in OS X memory will be hogged.

I get great speeds with Azureus -- I usually upload at 12K/s and get 60+K/s
