Yes, I've heard of the workaround to get iDVD to work, but I suspect that won't work indefinitely. There will be an upgrade, and ...

Does anyone have suggestions as to software to use for DVD authoring? I've waited for CaptyDVD 2.0, which I heard might be a good choice, but it seems it is delayed, and I've heard mixed reviews of the earlier versions. There is DVD Studio Pro, but that's a bit expensive (but may be the final choice).

How is toast 6? Does it do OK as a bare-bones DVD authoring program? No motion menus etc, but are the basics ok? One solution is to wait on CaptyDVD or go with another solution; another is to get (e.g.) the LaCie dvd multi-format burner that is bundled with toast, and get DVD Studio Pro later.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

DVD Studio Pro is very inexpensive considering all of the applications capabilities. The reason most people think it's expensive is because they are used to paying nothing for iDVD.
