Hi all.

Lately, even when it iS NOT ACTIVATED, iChat will launch when I get an incoming message. For instance, right now, I will quit iChat (using command+Q). My status, however, apparently doesn't change, and so someone might try to send me an IM. When the message goes through, it will launch iChat. Does anyone have any idea what the devil's going on with this? Could this be connected to my phone (SE T610) not logging me off? (Does anyone know how to GET it to log me off of AIM?/)

Thanks in advance.

Cheers
Scott

In iChat Preferences, go to the General tab. Make sure "When I quit iChat, set my status to Offline" is checked.

Well bottom line is that you're still logged in while you think you aren't. So double-check that setting.

Or make sure "Offline" is chosen in the menu extra.

Hmm. I've been having trouble with iChat lately, too.

It displays me as 'available', though I've clearly set myself to 'busy' or even gone 'offline'. And no, I'm not online at multiple locations at the moment, but yes, I do that daily.

Part of this I attributed to iTunes' sharing, which seems to make me 'available', when someone connects to a playlist, but it's been getting worse.

In the last few weeks, some people have said I haven't responded to them, but I've never seen any attempt. And often, I see people stuck 'typing', without any of the text ever appearing.

I updated to the AV Beta, but same probs prevail. I'll do the disk permissions voodoo, but I don't think thats it this time.
