I have my palm phone set up to check my .mac email (as a pop account) & leave the messages on the server. I also have mail.app set up to check my email as a pop account, but to download the messages off the server) I've been using it this way for over a year with no problems. Monday, I checked my email from my phone in between two legs of a flight. I had 3 messages. That night, I went to download my email to my ibook, but there was no mail waiting. I also found out later that other messages never got to me at all. it seems as though they just disappeared!

I've searched the .mac help forums, and the only advice I could find was "You most likely have email forwarding on" I can't believe that this is their only "help" Do they think we're children? Of course I don't have email forwarding on. And there is no way to contact them for help.

Any ideas from any of you as to what happened, or how I can prevent it from happening again?

Thanks,
Mark

I'm guessing your phone is still set to leave the messages on the server?

Sounds like some kind of bizarre error on Apple's part, doesn't really seem like their is anything you can do different.

Yah, the phone is still set to leave them on the server. In fact, it is working again as usual today. I'ts just irritating knowing now that it happened & wondering if/when it will happen again. The only reason I found out is that I happened to get them when I was checking my phone. If I would have waited until I got to the hotel, I never would have even known about the messages.
