Still not showing up for me, when I try to print nothing happens.
I am based in Italy but the iPhoto page says Europe and not just UK.
How does that price compare to the US price for books?

I'm in the UK and the 'order prints' button does nothing. I'll stick with the mighty photobox.co.uk.

Had to do a clean install of iPhoto but now it is working.
I had the same problem of nothing happening when I clicked on Order Prints but now it seems OK.
I'll post back a comparison of prices with some other services.

Yes you need to have iPhoto 4 installed for this to work.
My first book is now at the printing stage according to the online status.
I expect it will take a few days before it gets to me though.
Hopefully by the end of next week.
I will report back on quality, etc.

If you download software from fotowire then you can choose from loads of different labs.
It is really useful for checking out how prices compare.
Here are a couple of labs to compare to Apple (Kodak):
Apple (Kodak) (excluding VAT at 20%)
4" x 6" £0.23
5" x 7" £0.49
6" x 8" £1.10
(I believe all these other prices are including VAT)
Topfoto
4" x 6" 1-9 £0.75
4" x 6" 40+ £0.15
5" x 7" 1-9 £0.99
5" x 7" 40+ £0.20
6" x 9" 1-9 £2.59
6" x 9" 40+ £0.39
Bonus Print
4" x 6" £0.20
5" x 7" £0.25
6" x 8" £0.50
Colormailer
4" x 6" £0.20
5" x 7" £0.55
6" x 8" £1.10
Colormailer is run by Colorplaza which does printing for a lot of companies in Europe including the Sony Print Service.
I would try to compare book process but my iPhoto still isn't happy even after a new install. I t only shows one style of book available +shows 50 empty pages. When I get it sorted I'll come back with book prices.
I would compare them to
My Publisher in America who do the same style of books.

Just ordered my first batch of prints!!!
One thing though. It's bloody slow!!! I have a 2Mb Cable connection and it is taking ages to upload the photos. Perhaps thousands of Mac users in Europe are all uploading their photos after waiting for more than two years. Then again, perhaps not.
Been running for 5 minutes now and has only uploaded 5Mb out of 32Mb.
Oh dear....
BTW, there is a way to get around the no iTunes store in Europe. You need a mate in the US though. Two words.... Gift Voucher!

They seem to have the thing set up well.
My first book order which I placed only 9 hours ago has shipped.
That's really great service, printed and made into a book and shipped in 9 hours.
Pity they they then tell you to allow 7-9 business days for shipping.
I really wish they would give you the option to use next day delivery, or at least something faster that parcel post.

Books:
Apple UK (including TAX)
Book £19.95
Delivery £6.45
Apple US (excluding TAX)
Book $29.95
Delivery $7.99
Apple Europe (including TAX)
Book €29.99
Delivery €9.60
MyPublisher (excluding TAX)
Book $29.95
Delivery free
There was a rumour earlier this year that Apple would use My Publisher for European books as well. They quoted by up to 8 business days for delivery to Europe which fits in with what Parky has. I would love to get one of these books but 33% on top for delivery sounds a bit steep.

My first iPhoto print have arrive in the UK.
They came in the white Apple / Kodak cardboard envelopes.
Prints are excellent quality, and service was not to bad speed wise.
I ordered them on Friday 19th and they arrived on Wednesday 24th.
I'm just waiting for my 4 Books to arrive now.
The first was also ordered on the 19th and shipped the same day.
Obviously as they are heavier they are taking longer to arrive.

For reference, photobox.co.uk is very quick. I've ordered prints on Sunday evening in the past and got them in the post Tuesday morning. Superb quality too.

I wouldn't be too surprised if they were arriving from the US. There was a rumour earlier this year that Apple might use this company to handle the books and send them over.
They quoted me 8 business days for delivery which sounds close to what you have been told.

Sounds strange but how about some photos of your photo book when it arrives? I'm thinking about getting some done, but I've never seen one to judge quality etc.

Great News!
My first iPhoto Book arrived today, that's only 7 days from order to delivery.
It seems that the package came from Germany (German postage), but was boxed in the Netherlands (Dutch Distribution company).
It arrived by UK parcel post in a brown cardboard box.
Inside is a great White and Grey Apple box with the Book plasctic packed inside.
You can see photos of the packaging and book here :-
http://homepage.mac.com/idparkinson/...toAlbum64.html
I am just waiting for 3 more books to arrive now :-
An Album of my favourite photos I have taken over the last 5 years
An Album for my Mum as a birthday present, full of family photos
An Album for my 1st Anniversary showing all the places we have been in our first year
If they are all as good as this one I will be very pleased.
The books look and feel like a million dollars, well done Apple.

The images are great, not grainy at all, very sharp.
The colours are very accurate as well.
I only used a 1 Megapixel camera for the pics, so I'm very impressed by the overall quality.

Your book and packaging are 100% identical to the ones I ordered in the US. They're extremely well done. It's like with the iPod - even the packaging is well thought out and you know you've got something with quality even before you reach the actual item.
A book of photos of our daughter's birth reduced my wife to tears, and a book of my nephew's first year did the same to my wife's sister. I sense more books in our future :-)
Both of them keep their books in the full wrapping for protection. They really are excellent books and it's fun building them. My wife helped with her sister's and we had fun laying out the book together.
Very impressive. I hope they add more styles. It would be great to have an iBook... er iPhotoAlbum that let you add travelogues with your pictures.
