After trying all possible keys and time signatures, I'm forced to conclude that there are no vocal loops in GarageBand, and the "Vocals" button is there for no reason. Are there any in the Jam Pack?

you are able to add your own loops to GB.

why would you want some canned singing?

I realize that, but I'm putting together a demo of GarageBand for a MUG, and it would be nice to explain why that button is permanently grayed out.

I think it's grayed out because no vocal loops are included with GarageBand. There are vocal loops in the Jam Pack, though.
