Lapcop or MacPhoneHome.. which is better?

I am going to purchase one or the other, & wanted to know which was better.

Thanks!

i purchased lapcop few months ago, but i never fully test it until recently. When i realize it didn't work properly, i emailed to their support. Their response was quick and i could say that they are very professional. However i still couldn't get it to work under panther. Looks like i am wasting money here.

Apparently i couldn't get it to install properly even though i have the administrative right.

here's an update:

i finally get it to work, and i think this app must install to the first user (the user who set up the computer) otherwise it won't work despite the fact that other users have administrative right.

i got an e-mail alert notification after i play around the network setting. Rather it will help you recover your laptop if it's stolen in the future that will be anyone's guess.

Does Lapcop allow you to boot from the CD? From What I understand MacPhonehome doesn't It does this so you can't boot from another device to erase the drive. I think this is right but I'm not sure.

Whether it does or not, you can disable CD booting in Open Firmware.

like CharlesS mentioned. Lapcop suggests you to install apple's firmware to lock booting from cd or external drive.

I hate to say that, but if you are going to purchase this so that you have a piece of mind then you can forget about this software. Even though it does contact you by email when the network setting is changed, but i really doubt that you can actually recover your laptop it is stolen.

I wasted my $25 buck for an experiment.

I also know that MacPhonehome installs into firmware as well.
