That's strange. Try using the Software Restore DVD that came with the computer to install it.

I remember an an iMac I set up more software was found in an "Additional Software" folder or some such in the Utilities or Applications folder. I remember it had the developer tools, but maybe this is where iDVD is

Maybe a silly question, but does your Powerbook have a DVD Burner? If it is just a Combo drive, you won't get iDVD - it has to have a Superdrive...

Did you wipe the drive then do a custom install when you received the PB? The reason I ask is that iDVD isn't included in the regular install of OS X from the Install disks. If it is anywhere, I would imagine it may be on the Restore disk(s). You could download a copy of Pacifist and examine the contents of the System Restore disk(s) and see if it's included there (which I would assume it would be.)

Otherwise, you'll have to go out and pick yourself up a copy of iLife '04…

My DVI 12inch is a Combo but came with iDVD. I think they just use a standard disk image to set up the machines.
