Hi,

I want to stream a 7 min video in flash. I cut it in iMovie. Now I'd like to know how I can do it in the best way for DSL AND modem users.

I'd like to get the best quality possible. Is it necessary to serve 2 streams or is flash capable of doing it like Real, encoding the right stuff by itself for all bandwidths?

I don't need a flash course here, someone else will code this. BUT lease tell me which video files I should render (bps, keyframes, format, whatever. out of iMovie of course).

Thanx a lot.

Don't use Flash for video. Flash is meant for vector graphics and animations, not for video. Use something else. Don't use Real, the client sucks and annoys people.

Do you really need it to stream? A fast-start progressive loading QuickTime movie would probably be the easiest thing.

see, I WILL be using flash cause the website is done completely in flash. I don't need to let flash really COMPRESS any video. It is caable of streaming files off a server, too. And this is exactly what I am asking: best filesizes/etc for those streams.

A website done completely in flash? Probably going to be a usability nightmare, then, unless you're extremely skilled. I personally detest flash and think it's ludicrously overused, but even if I didn't I'd still tell you that anyone using it for video is a frickin moron.

OMG people. *sigh*

Please, this is not a question whether or not flash is the tool of choice. I am only interested in bandwidth / compression data...
