Have an odd problem with the I-beam cursor in Powerpoint.

If I switch from slide view to outline view, the I-beam disappears so I can't select or insert text. It reappears if I do a file action like save or attempt to open a file.

Using PowerPoint 10.1.4 on G4 12 inch with 10.2.7 and have run the 10.1.5 updater (though 'about' still reports version as 10.1.4).

Trashing Powerpoint plist and logging out makes no difference.

Any ideas please? It's a very annoying bug.

TIA,

Adrian

Where do you get the "about" info in PowerPoint? When I open Powerpoint and go to about, there is no mention about the version. However when listed as an application in my folder set to view version .. it shows 10.1.5 along with Excel. If you have run the updater you should show 10.1.5. Get info shows this as well too of course.

If you have to reinstall, don't forget to run the uninstaller from your install disk....

Yes sorry I meant Get Info or in the Finder. The version now reports as 10.1.5, I think I've done a restart since last checked when it showed 10.1.4 immediately after update.

The cursor problem (and other odd behaviour) disappears if I create a new presentation. Files which I'd origianlly created under 8.6 with Office98 have the problem so no big deal (just have to recreate my templates), but evidence that it's not completely compatible across versions/OS.
