I can not for the life of me figure out how or why my font is set to.. whatever this is.. but I also can not figure out how to change it back. It seems to affect any of the Java apps i'm using on Yahoo..

This only happens at my work computer... is there some sort of global OS setting for this?

I noticed that text in java applets and in flash applets is not anti-aliased in Safari, but they are in Mozilla browsers too. But they don't revert to the squirrelly font you showed. Go into the Utilities-->Java folder and make sure only one Java version is enabled. This may not resolve the problem, but it's a good idea to check this regardless.

I was doing some searching on the forum, looking for an solution to my apparent Java problems. In one Java-based chat room, my Java windows appear as blank screens (thus chatting is impossible).

First, what's the solution? Second, how do I make sure only one Java version is enabled? I recently updated to 1.4.2 but my previous version is still in the Java folder.

Thanks!

Just open the Java 1.3.1 and on the Basic tab, uncheck the enable java plug-in option. I believe that will do it.

I wondered about that but didn't want to do anything without advice. (I've only been a Mac user for about 5 months.)

Unfortunately, though, I disabled it, and the problem continues. Thanks for the suggestion!
