(Duplicate post from hardware/powerbook--probably belongs here)
About 3 weeks after going to 10.3.2 none of my apps would burn data anymore--they all suddenly got partway through a burn and hung hard, requiring a force-quit (and restart in Toast). Lots of room on HD, Reinstalled all apps--Toast, Dragon, Discblaze, Firestarter, ran disk warrior, permissions, Onyx, fsck, etc.
After a hang in Toast, often when I force restart/reboot, the MCE CD-RW (early matshita UJDA310) is not recognized and I must restart again. Disk utility will simply quit without burning data but all apps will burn disk images.
I got around this by staying in OSX but burning in Toast 5xx from the OS9 partition (toast provides it's own drivers in 5.xx) but suddenly that has also started to hang. There is no firmware update for CD-RW but I don't really believe that is the issue anyway--I think it is either the driver in 10.3.x, but have no idea how to fix this or something in OSX. Also have odd finder behavior: HD icons move around between starts and finder menu windows open in different sizes--sometimes individual windows won't open at all in icon view. Disk Warrior sometimes complains there is not enough room to rewrite directory--this with 1-2GB available. Update to 10.3.3 has not helped. I've created about 30 coasters now and this is beyond me. I'm open to all suggestions.
