Transparent iCal fails to launch

When I click on iCal in the dock, I get this: bounce...bounce...bounce...*transparent: no more iCal icon except for the black day number and the white month abbreviation*....bounce...bounce...bounce...ad infinitum.

I got this since updating to 10.3.3 although I've successfully used iSync.

Any ideas?
