iSync never appears in software update for me when i re-install my OS on my mac. So i go download it on the website and after downloading Apple scolds me by saying " You know, you should have used your software update. Next time, right?" yeah, whatever.

This is what this forum is all about. If you are having problems, post all of the issues you are having. The model of the Palm, how you are connecting it (be descriptive) and what Mac you have and what OS you are using.

We can't help you if you aren't willing to share

While many of us are Jerks in the forums, ultimately we are looking to help people out...

I guess I am lost as to what the problem is... every install has had iSync installed in the Applications directory.

Not sure why your sister would be fed up with Apple if you just can't locate software that is free. Did you even search on their website?

I timed myself... it took me 13 seconds to find this for you...

Or better yet

Google: iSync

It shows up as #1 and #2... (and only took 3 seconds)

there is some issue with isync 1.4 ... on the apple support boards, there are hundreds of posts from people whose palms are not syncing after the 1.4 update.

she bought a new powerbook, and it came with 1.4.

p.s. she's had other problems, especially with her airport. tech support isn't very helpful on either issue.

I know with iSync and Palm you need to instal lthe Palm Desktop and the Palm iSync conduit. You can get that from Apple.com then click on the made for Mac link on the top and do a search for iSync. It will have the Palm conduit for iSync. You need to install that and the Palm dekstop and it should work just fine.

I always come to these boards first... LONG before calling customer service.

THE REASON: They have to start from square one... "is it plugged in?" "is the mouse plugged in?" "Have you installed any new software?" bla bla bla.

Here, you get the input from people with the actual hardware. I come here and post before any computer related purchase just to bounce ideas off of the board (and I've changed my mind on many products for the better)

Just my 2¢

I know the process is a little odd last time I used my Palm (I gave up on them and went back to paper and pencil)
