I want to change my Home Page bust Safari won't let me do it within the application.
I did a search here and found changing the home page in the system preferences Internet pane would solve the problem. I looked for this pane an couldn't find it. So I went to my
book on OSX. It shows the .mac pane with four buttons. .mac, iDisk, Email, and Web.
My .mac preference pane shows only two buttons. .Mac and iDisk.

Is this something new in 10.3.3 or am I missing buttons in .Mac preferences. Sorry but I searched the Apple site for answers to no avail.

The preference for setting homepages has been moved to the Safari preferences as of 10.3.

It's under the 'General' pane.

Yes, but the preference change in Safari doesn't stick. My page keeps reverting to the original depsite doing a Safari reset and trashing my Safari plist preference file. This is annoying. The page I can't get rid of is Google News. There must be a cookie somewhere because I can not change away from this page.

sounds like maybe you've got a permissions problem, because it works fine for most of us...

I'm having the same problem, with a brand new G5. The home page setting won't "stick" no matter what I try. Don't have this problem on my PowerBook running the same version of Safari. A previous post alluded to a "permission problem" - could anyone provide more info? Permissions for the the application, the preferences file, or something else?

Quit all applications, then trash the file com.apple.internetconfig.plist in your Preferences folder and log out. Log in again, set the homepage and see whether it sticks.
Nasrudin sat on a river bank when someone shouted to him from the opposite side: "Hey! how do I get across?" "You are across!" Nasrudin shouted back.
