Are there no educational discounts for the Professional edition of Office 2004? I already have an education version of Office v.X, so I'm assuming the cheapest way to get Office 2004 and VPC would be to buy the standard upgrade of Office 2004 Pro?
[edit]: If I re-bought the Education version of v.X, then would I be eligible for the free upgrade to Office 2004 Pro?
[edit2]: Never mind, it's explained in the technology guarantee coupon.

No, you have to pay $120 (I think) for an upgrade FROM Office X Student and Teacher Edition TO Office 2004 Pro. The upgrade to Office 2004 Student and Teacher Edition is free, if you mail in that Tech Guarantee Form like I did last week.

Problem is though, that's only applicable if you bought the Education v.X after January 6th, right? (Mine's really old... bought it almost a year ago).

Ouch, I guess you're right. I would just go ahead and buy the upgrade to 2004 Pro. Me, I'm happy to have whatever I can get. I am in the learning phase of Office right now. The OS X version seems pretty nice.

I can't live without the formatting pallet these days. I get all fumbly when I try to use the Windows version now.
BTW, I can just buy the Pro upgrade, right? I don't have to buy the full version...?

Yeah, I think the price was $130, if I remember correctly.

300 for an UPGRADE!!! And here I just came from Peripherals, where people are talking about a mini being expensive.
I may have to rethink my plan to upgrade. I thought it was $120. I bought Office 2 years ago, too, so it's not like I'll qualify for any "recent" buyer rebate.
