So the problem is a particular site will not ask for a login ID and password .

The user thinks she may have hit the "Never for this site" button the first time she used Safari to access this site.

So I reset Safari and deleted all cache.

The site still does not ask for a password (the sheet coming down with the 3 options).

Does anybody know how to reset the particular site so it will remember her password again?

Go to the autofill tab in preferences and look in the user names and passwords section, find the site you are having trouble with and remove it.

Did that. Turns out the site never did pull down the sheet. Bummer.

I wonder what determines what sites Safari will pull down the sheet for?

Not only does it not automatically start the animation (as IE 5.2 does) but you have to MANUALLY click the fwd button to go through the pix.

Isn't this an awfully basic sort of animation on a VERY high-volume web site for Safari not to handle it properly... esp. with Safari already to 1.2 ! (no, PithHelmet is NOT installed on my system)

Strange thing is that SO many ads' animation works in Safari. Can anyone tell from the javascript at Weather.com if they use some exotica that we shouldn't expect Safari to handle?

Apple needs to be providing a world-class browser with its system: Safari speed is great, but compatibility still has a way to go. Please try it out:
