Is there a Mac equivalent to Spybot available for OS X. Does the Mac have the same problems with Spyware as Windows machines. Thanks

You need to define spyware, before one can answer that question.

Nasrudin sat on a river bank when someone shouted to him from the opposite side: "Hey! how do I get across?" "You are across!" Nasrudin shouted back.

There once was a gnutella client that I think had some spyware in it, but I think that got "cleared up."

There's a cool little shareware called "Little Snitch" that monitors and alerts on novel outgoing traffic, though. It's interesting to see what actually dials out in a variety of contexts.

Eliminate Spyware for good...!

Throw out your Windows machine and buy a Mac.

There is no (known) Spyware for MacOS X, with the exception of an older, bugged LimeWire client. However, stay off the illegal P2P sources and you'll never have to worry.

There are some web cookies that will track clicked links (and will affect just about every OS), so try to be proactive and clear out old/unknown cookies or use a browser that will allow you to individually accept or decline each cookie as they come. Stay off foreign/third-world domains or porn sites and you can avoid many of these.
