possible to change the HOME folder's name?

i tried changing the home folder's name and all it does is create a NEW home folder with the old name and make your renamed folder revert back to the factory settings.

Your home directory's name is tied directly to your user name (short name), unless you are going to change all of that information (command line, and netinfo work), then messing around with it is not a good idea.

PS... yes, I know I am oversimplifying, and it is possible to change the two independently, but you will break lots of things, and it is better left undone. No reason was given for the change, so I assume that it is simply a whim.
