Ditto for me… iWork integrates with it quite well so I get by pretty good.
iCal could probably use a little love... but it is simple and does the trick.
I'd love to give Daylite a whirl... but i tried it way back at 1.3 or whatever (pre Panther) and the demo expired and has never reset....not at 1.5 or 1.6.
