I purchased an iPod yesterday and uninstalled the downloaded version of iTunes I previously had on my computer so that the version on the CD would install. Now that I have iTunes on my computer, when I insert a CD into the computer, iTunes opens up, but "CD" isn't listed as a source on the left-hand side of iTunes. I have tried uninstalling/re-installing, restarting, and fooling with some settings.

I am on the PC running Windows 2000 Professional.

Any ideas for what I can do?

Thanks.

I just put in some random CD that was sitting here - I believe it was "Come Away with Me" by Norah Jones. I thought it would recognize all CDs, regardless of copy protection so that I could simply move the songs from the CD to my iPod.

What rjenkinson meant was that some record labels have released some CDs with built-in copy-protection schemes so that people couldn't rip them on their computers (of course, people have already figured out how to crack these schemes). I have no idea if the Norah Jones CD is one of those.
Do any other CDs show up? Do any CDs show up in other apps (such as WinAmp)?
