I tried VLC, mplayer and of course QT but nothing
it's suppose to be a music file

it is probably a music file but it has been "compressed" - try running it through Xact and you should get what you want.....works great for me anyway!

Yeah, I've had good luck with Xact, too. It will decompress the files into WAVs or AIFFs, which you can then encode with iTunes. And the .shn files are lossless, so there are no problems with generational losses and such.

..there is also Shorten X but it is not a flexible as Xact....Xact also does flac files etc too which you'll likely run into as well if you are getting stuff from the (legit btw) Live Music Archive
