A fun little application that shows the weather conditions in your menu bar. The Original Weather Pop had a simpler graphic context which I may actually prefer.
Don't know..just installed.. it might be a little distracting to have all that color on your menu bar. But will try it a few days.
WeatherPop is a application I do use all the time and highly recommend.

Downloaded and immediately got rid of those new icons via Preferences. Now it's much better. I like the new layout on the menu (with the "item" bolded) and the re-vamp of Preferences is indeed very nice...
GOOD UPDATE!

What a horrid week for the TiBook to be in the shop. I'm missing out on all this great stuff!
Love that weatherpop. Not so sure about the new icons tho'. I'll have to see if they grow on me.

Am I crazy, or can you only see 3 cities, plus your default at any one time?

Yah, so there are still huge bugs, like grabbing the incorrect temp. I am a paying customer as well. From all the source, it says Hi of 16 today, but when I go to the website and look, it says like 92 or something.

I still think I like (free) Meteorologist better- I can customize the menu however I want, and I use the radar image feature all the time...
On the other hand it's nice to have a product that's supported and actually gets all the correct data...

I've decided I don't like the new icon sets showing the clouds/sunsets in the background..they are too distracting..
however the pulldown menu is MUCH easier to read, so its worth upgrading just for that.

Did it used to have sunrise and sunset? I just upgraded (I'm a paying customer) and I, like others, am not sure I like the colors. But I like the extra info.

My favorite WeatherPop icons were the plain black ones, back in its earliest days. They meshed quite well with the menu style, in a way that even the later grayscale ones never managed to match.

I tried this one but in 10.3.3 it immediately crashes when I try to enter a city and will not re-launch. I have to uninstall and reinstall it only to have it crash again... looks like someday it may be a decent app but from what I can tell it needs alot of work (like getting it to work in the 1st place ).
Weatherpop 2.0 is pretty nice. Somehow, I never knew about this app before.

Well not sure about sunrise and sunset, but some of the background colors were just too distracting, particularly a deep orange/red background that on my powerbook with the small screen size distracted your eye too much.
Honestly the REAL reason I like weather pop so much is that by monitering that I can tell if my internet connection is working or not right away when I start up in the a.m. or wake the computer up from sleep.
If the internet connection is not working you get a little warning icon instead of the temperature/weather thingie.
Very handy ..I keep mine on the 15 minute update interval..
and oh..yes..it is nice to keep track of the weather with too.

It still is giving some wild parsing information...

Exhibit B: (Wunderground)

I'm still not sure about the new icons, turning the color saturation all the way down makes them greyscale. I'll leave it up for a few more days, might revert back...

Exactly the same here. Readability of the new pulldown menu is much improved. However, I switched back to the old icons immediately. Even though I like the concept of the "sky" icons, their squarish frame does not fit the other Menu Bar icons at all and the color is too distracting.
$7 for WeatherPop is one of the best shareware investments I have made. And I sincerely appreciate the fact that 2.0 is a free upgrade for registered users.
Thank you Lisa (and David)!

Until we get a 3 lbs sub-PowerBook, the 12-inch PowerBook will do.
