I work in an enterprise envirnoment with around 160 Macintosh computers. Does anybody know of some good software audit systems that work in various flavors of mac OS (or at least OS X)

Thanks for the help in advance!

Look at the following site and see if this is type of software you are looking for.

goricky - thanks but no

back up - yes this is more along the lines of what i was thinking of. It seems to me that it's hard to find good enterprise level management software for Mac OS. That's a little frustrating.

Thanks so much for your help. I have requested an eval of that software. I'd still like to see other suggestions if anybody has them.

Goricky,

We actually use remote desktop for a lot of stuff around here, but it doesn't work well for the kind of software control we need. You can generate reports and install and change software remotely, but it doesn't give you options for controlling actuall liscenses and it has to be actively available on the clients computer in order to effect a change. If they are shut down you are doomed to walk around and find their machine and by then you might as well just do it manually.

I really like what I'm seeing in the K2 software so far. The learning curve is a little steaper, but the amount of control it offers is incredible. The only scary part is that I have yet to see a pricing model. I'll look into that other peice of software too. thanks for all the help.
