I seem to be having trouble using RealOne. Sometimes it works; sometimes it doesn't.

The latest case: I click on a .rm file and the "Graphic Converter" loads telling me , "The file "-------.rm" isn't a Nasa Raster Metafile. It seems to be a RealPlayer file. You can change the default open app for ".rm" files in the MacOS 10.2 Finder or later."

Will that take care of the problem? How do I change the default open app for .rm files? Thanks in advance!

It sounds like you're using Safari. Try finding the rm file downloaded by the browser, click once on that file to select it, and then choose Get Info from the Finder's File menu. In the Open With section of the Get Info window, pick RealOne Player as the application to open that kind of file, and click the Change All button.

If you are using a browser other than Safari, try resetting the player. To do that, hold down the Command and Option keys while launching the player. A dialog offering to reset the player should appear; click the dialog's reset button.

Select the file (click on it once) and choose Get Info from the File menu (or press command-i). In the window that appears, in the Open With section, choose the app you would like (Real player, in this case). Click the Change All button if you want all files of that type (.rm, in this case) to open in the selected app by default.
