when i use mail to check my .mac account, it seems like when it can't connect (quite often) it makes a pop up asking for my password. I even store it in the keychain and it keeps on popping up like the password didn't work.

then there are time where it won't ask and it downloads the mail just fine?

is .mac mail unreliable? or what wrong with my mail? its also very annoying.

thanks for the help in advance!

This is either a known bug (depending upon your OS) or you could be having .mac issues (rather common) or a bad network connection.

my os is 10.3.3 and im a relatively new switcher, but im guessing .mac is unreliable? cause my 2 other mail accounts do this but 1/10th as much as .mac. not to mention on my windows it was even more rare for my other 2 accounts to do this. so maybe its a bug partly? thansk for the reply though.

I don't use .mac, but I hear it's OK at best.

I have a similar problem. Mail.app propts me for passwords that are already stored in keychain very often and it's anoying as hell. It happens for a couple of my POP3 accounts and doesn't happen at all for my .mac accounts so I think this is a problem with Mail.app not with the email servers. I'm looking for someone who has fixed this problem, if I find anything I'll link to it here.

Can anyone shed some light on this?
Mail seems to want the password at most, but not all pop3 queries.
Have not had this behavior till 10.3.8.
My .mac is not effected, only the pop3 account.
