Hi guys,
I received a .wps file (microsoft works) file from a Windows client and it contains some diagrams I would like to see. I have Office X for Mac installed (the full thing including all the utilities on the cd that the manual talks about). I also have the latest Office X patches.
I remember distinctly installing all converters as well. However when i try and open the .wps file i receive a list of file types . Fine i think and select works 4 for macintosh (assuming that is the closest match) since there is no works 2000 or later file in the list. However no joy. Still no joy with any of the other file types on the list. Can anyone tell me if there is another app or a way to open a '.wps' file???
Regards
i_wolf

You need the old Mac WordPerfect application which is free if you can find it (Google?) but it's so old it doesn't open up alot of the newer WordPerfect files. Your best bet would be to open it up on a Windows machine if you can (with Word) and then manipulate it from there...

MacLink Plus from DataViz has translators for most file types. http://www.dataviz.com/products/maclinkplus/index.html has a description. It also can "view" files of unknown type and identify most types automatically. Also, I believe that Works is now stripped versions of Word. sam

WordPerfect for Mac 3.5 can be found here. It'll only work under classic, tho'. Not sure if it will open that version of Works or not, but you can give it a try.
