I was watching The Rundown and noticed the audio often dropping low when loud sound effects begin. Could this be something that Apple's DVD Player is automatically doing? I don't have a regular TV to test the DVD on to see if it's just the DVD itself with a weird sound mix. Anyone experience similar problems?

I've noticed this as well. It's compression... it is trying to make up for the loud sounds by lowering the volume, attempting to create a constant sound level. However, it doesn't quite work right, and ends up actually clipping the sound out for a second.

I haven't quite determined if it's Apple's DVD Player, or my speakers. Do you use Apple's Pro Speakers, or something else?
