Hey gang--

Since installing ITunes 4.5, I can't burn music that I've purchased from the Music Store to a CD (AIFF) using Toast 5.2 (as the converter from AAC to AIFF). This probelm didn't exist before installing 4.5...

If it's something I've encoded as AAC, I can burn it, but nothing I've downloaded (ie BOUGHT) from the MS, regardless of when I purchased it (most before 4.5), will burn to CD.

I have an orginal PBG4500, so I have an external burner, and have to use Toast. It's worked fine until ITunes 4.5...

Any help you all can suggest is more than appreciated...

Apparently, according to Roxio, QuickTime 6.5.1 brought a new protection scheme to the iTMS purchases, which disables any 3rd party apps from burning them.

So, it's not just you... it just doesn't work anymore.

From Roxio's comment, I can't quite tell if this is a permanent loss, or if they will be able to make an update to fix the problem.

So, for now, we have to burn purchased iTMS songs with iTunes.

Ryan--

That bites! Lem'me ask you this then:

Is there a way to convert the purchases to another format (say mp3, AIFF) that would then allow me to burn using Toast? I can't buy a whole new burner (Apple approved), just to be able to burn a few songs...

Guess who's writing a nasty note to Apple? I'm SURE they'll listen to reason... ;-)

Thanks for your response,
Scott

Not without first burning the AACs to CD....

I hear ya hardcat!

All it takes is a few morons who want to exploit things in any way they can, and it ruins it for us all.

Same reason Apple removed the ability to share our tunes over the internet... man I miss that feature.
