my question is how many gigs can you shrink to fit on a 4.4 gb dvd+r disc withour losing any noticeable quality?
i just ripped my copy of ghostbusters, but noticed the video was 4.9 gbs for the main movie before shrinking. i felt i had room to add stuff, but before i burn it i wanted to ask how much i could add before the shrinking reduces quality??
thanks!

Pretty much any type of compression and you will lose quality.

I think the only one that knows what you will notice, is you. How about giving it a try and seeing what you think of the results. Mabye use a DVD-RW instead of wasting a DVD-R.
But, like the other poster said, any compression is going to add quality loss, and I know that I would notice it, but I have no idea about you.
