Not being able to listen to shared libraries on my network is irritating me. Not all users want to upgrade.

Is there a 4.2 version of iTunes available anywhere to download?

Thanks!

Oh just stick with 4.5 and get others to upgrade. There's no reason for others not to upgrade, and if you downgrade then you're just blocking progress.

Agree, and you aren't going to find a legal version of 4.2 (but I have one )

I held out because I got screwed with the version that wouldn't let me stream to work from home...

Out of curiosity, why downgrade?

Eventually everyone will have 4.5...

You can try and fight it, but it's bound to happen. I remember the iTunes people that held out for internet streaming, but that only lasted a month before they all upgraded.

Thanks for the link, GateKeeper!

I am "downgrading" because I don't use any of the new features in 4.5 and because I don't want to wait for the 8 people I share my library with to "upgrade".

Earlier versions of iTunes worked just fine for me.

Yah, I guess that would be difficult getting the word out... Considering there aren't any real advantages to me either, I would probably downgrade. I just wish the Windows users kept up with updates.

Just a warning... you won't be able to buy from the iTunes Music Store using iTunes 4.2, since Apple released the upgrade, they tweaked the protocols, etc.

Will it play downloaded music (which you have already purchased)?
