Any good and cheap software for 0SX that will be like a cash register??
I want to type in the item, some other info that will help me sort, price and then have it give me tax and then total. I could use a spreadsheet with multiple columns, or some bloated buisness software, but thought there might be a tiny program that would manage a very small business. I want to type the item info right at the transaction and then afterward be able to sort and analyize the figures.

thanks

Have you been to an Apple store? It looks like they have a Mac OS X solution for their cash registers. Their signature pads have an underlaid Mac OS X dialog window.

Maybe you can find out what they use, even though I have a feeling it was a custom job done by an expensive consultant, or in-house.

Yeah i noticed that their credit card machine had an aqua button:-) I also thought it was funny that they have drawers for phones and scanners and anything "non-apple" so as not to clutter the counter with ugly equipment.

I am not looking for anything so big-just a simple program to calculate some sales and do the math for me etc.

Well, the computers run a custom built cash register program.

The signature pads don't run OS X. They just use OS X-like graphics.
