First off, Office 2004 is pretty nice so far. There are a couple of things like the formatting pallette that fades translucent when not in use that is nice, and the fact that I can save documents with as long of a name as I want makes me more compatible with my windows network brothers and sisters.

Anyway, I bought Office 2004 so my wife could use our Powermac at home
instead of having to lug home her pc laptop or use Virtual PC with Outlook 2003 on it. Using Office X, I was able to use calendar and adress book and it would actually sync up. Now that I am using Entourage 2004, I only receive data from the exchange server, and get an error that the calendar info and adress book info will not sync back to the exchange server....one way communication. Email does not sync up at
all. I understood that in Office X, you had to use IMAP, but it was
my understanding that this was no longer necessary in Office 2004, since her office policy is to not allow IMAP. I do not know what version of exchange server her office is using, and she has to be connected in via VPN to get a connection with her exchange server.

Any help or insight would be appreciated.

I believe her office needs to be using Exchange 2003 (can others confirm this?)...I would find that out first and foremost...

So the solution is that I had to use the Outlook Web Access (OWA) server IP address in the field labeled "Exchange server:"

YIPEEEEEE!!!!!

One step closer to dumping my PC over the balcony.....now if I can jsut get Autodesk to port AutoCAD...LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL.......It could happen

I am using:
OSX 10.3.3
Entourage 2004
VPN access to the server using Internet Connect PPTP

I hope this helps somebody else!

Have a great weekend!
