Re Photoshop:
First, I would like to know whether it is possible to save a certain zoom percentage, say 150% and make an action or tool preset to automatically jump to that zoom.

Re ImageReady & Photoshop:
1. Is it possible to force the program to default to uppercase file extensions. I searched imageready's prefs and came with nothing

2. Neither ImageReady nor Photoshop obey the OSX conventions for hiding themselves and offer no key shortcut for hiding other programs. THIS ABSOLUTELY PISSES ME OFF. Anyway to make them bow before the throne of usability?

Thanks for the help

You could create an action, then insert the menu items for View -> Actual Pixels, then View -> Zoom In (as many times as needed). You can't do a 150% zoom with this method, but you could do a fixed 200%, 300%, 400%, etc.

For web export in Photoshop, with the Save For Web window open, hit the arrow pop-up on the Settings line and select "Edit Output Settings". Select "Saving Files" from the pop-up, then change the entry that reads ".ext" to ".EXT".

For just general Photoshop save behavior, it's in the regular Preferences under "File Handling". Uncheck "Use Lower Case" below the "Append File Extension" pop-up.

Of course, uppercase extensions are evil.

Photoshop hides itself with the non-standard command-control-H and hides others with the standard command-option-H.

So there's no way to make photoshop conform to the command-h convention?

ImageReady actually doesn't allow hiding other programs, but photoshop does. Any way to enable hiding other programs in ImageReady?

There is in Photoshop. Edit -> Keyboard Shortcuts. I used this method because I use CMD-H to hide apps all the time. ImageReady should also allow you to do this, but for SOME reason certain Adobe applications don't allow you to change the shortcuts in that menu (like InDesgin! >< ).

There should be in general preferences. Use system shortcuts.

Thanks Developer! It worked for photoshop, and it sort of worked for imageready, but it still doesn't allow hiding others via shortcut. Apfhex, don't know what you meant by edit>keyboard shortcut, its not in photoshop or imageready (both version 7) Thanks for the tip SomeToast, imageready doesn't seem to have a similar option. Yeah, I don't like the uppercase extensions either, but the company I work for requires I upload files to the Linux server in ALL CAPS.
