I'm having a problem to upgrade from 4.0 to 4.0.1. Everytime when I upgrade to 4.0.1 and the icon just changed to "A" of applciation icon.. and cannot be able to open it.. i have to move back to 4.0 to have it worked... I went back to software update to upgrade to 4.0.1 then the same problems occurs again..
Any solutions????? I just want to be able to upgrade it without any problems.

I did went through the DiskUtility>Repair Permissions on my hard drive and there were some errors fixed.. but I see nothing with iphoto? Are you saying that I should just "repair permissions" only on iPhoto? I did try to launch it. it wont open and I checked "Get Info" and it says it's 4.0.1.. Why can't it launch?
Anyone???
Thanks

I had the exact same problem, but a permission repair fixed it all.

Just repair permissions for your whole HD, it is a good idea to do that every once in a while anyways. That "should" fix your problem. Good Luck

Read this Apple doc: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93668.
Also, it could be a broken permissions issue on some files inside the iPhoto application package. First try running Disk Utility and repairing disk permissions. If that doesn't do the trick, go into the iPhoto application package (Control-click and select Show package contents in the contextual menu). Then move down into the various folders and look for any folders/files/packages that have a red "-" associated with it. If you find any, select that item and type Control-I, Get Info, and under the Ownership & Permissions section, change the owner and group permissions to read and write. Then click on the Apply to enclosed items button. Do this for any and all items you find with the red "-".
If that doesn't work, I'd try deleting the iPhoto application and iPhoto.pkg file (in the Library/Receipts folder), reinstalling iPhoto, update to 4.0.1 and then repairing disk permissions again.
Hope this has been of some help. Good luck.

Thanks for the help- I 'control-clicked' on my iPhoto 4.0 and clicked on "Show Package contents" and only see "Contents" folder- nothing else... Am I missing something here? Or I have to upgrade to 4.0.1 to find the error?? And another question here- if I delete the iPhoto application and the iPhoto.pkg file-- how can I reinstalling iPhoto??? Thanks.

Did you try to open the Contents folder and subsequent subfolders? If you have to reinstall 4.0, then you'll need your iLife 04 disk and you'll need to delete the two files I mentioned earlier.
