My first try using my new eMac, iTunes 4.5 and Audiocorder OSX, recording my vinyls and burning on CR-R discs failed. My CD player manuals say they will play MP3s, but I can't record that format with Audiocorder...or can I?

I think your CD's or mac formated and the player knows windows FAT32 FileSystem.
Within itunes you can make real CDs, not mp3 cds.

I understand what you are saying, but I don't understand how to do it. Could you explain in detail?

Look at the menu bar first....
iTunes -> Preferences -> Burning -> Audio CD
Hopes this helps,

Matt, you found the problem. I had not set the burning preferences. Sometimes the small details overwhelm a new user. Thanks a lot. I'm now listening to a homemade CD of the first Kingston Trio record. Thanks again.
