PC to Phone, and PC-PC Calls??

Okay, I know that iChat is supposed to work with AIM 5.5, but there are issues concerning doing audio-only chat.

I wanted to know, is there a program out there that is Mac AND PC friendly that would allow for PC-PC, PC-Phone calls?

I will be overseas in France for nine months and IF I end up getting a Mac, I want ot make sure I can touch base with the folks back home here without costing either of us an arm and a leg.......

I know a lot of these services are no longer free, but I dont care, as long as I could use it while over seas I would subscribe or whatever cuz its worth it...thanks.
