So I have the new Office 2004. Love it. Tired of using Mail.app because it seems like a lite version of a real mail application. I have a desktop computer and a laptop I take with me on the road. Typically, I use Chronosync to make sure all of my files, contacts, emails, calenders, etc... are the same on both computers. This worked fine with Address Book, iCal and Mail as they store the files in your user's library folder in obvious places. Now that I am using Entourage, it's a little harder. I think Entourage stores everything in one "database" file which can be found in ~/Documents/Microsoft User Data/Office 2004 Identities/Main Identity/

The problem is that this file is in use by the "Database Daemon" (found in Activity Monitor). The only way you can copy this file is if the daemon is force quit thus releasing it from being "used." If you just quit Entourage, the daemon stays open so it can remind you of tasks you have scheduled and the like.

So... Anyone know of a workaround? An app that can do what I want? Anyone running into this same problem?

It looks like this has been asked before. Should have searched first.

I guess I was hoping that 2004 would include something more elegant. I also hate the thought of force quitting the daemon every time I want to sync. Corruption station here I come.
