Hi,

I've been using iTunes on two Macs and have now bought an iPod. I've purchased music on both Macs but their iTunes libraries are not the same. How should I consolidate this so that I have all of my music on one Mac and then can update the iPod? I've shared iTunes between the two machines but that's really only for playing.

On a related note, if I want to consolidate all of my music to a folder on another drive can I point iTunes to that rather than import into it's own library where the end result is duplication.

Any tips on managing all of this stuff with multiple Macs and an iPod would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Todd

On your first item What you can do is create either a playlist or Smart playlist for new stuff added. Then when you go to your other Mac you can use a program like Podworks or something to remove the songs from your iPod and put them on the other Mac.

Second. Yes you can just point your iTunes to any folder you want pretty much anywhere you want. What I would do is move your iTunes folder to the drive you want to import to then just point iTunes to that folder.
