What do you use for image management?

I switched to Mac over a year ago (mostly, I still use my PC for some development), and I'm looking for a really good (free, if possible) program to manage a large number of images (3,000+). On the PC side, I love ThumbsPlus ( www.cerious.com). iPhoto is ok, but seems a little kludgy, and doesn't have many built-in options for editing images. I use Photoshop, but would like to see options like "Flip", or adjust color balance.
So, what's your favorite?

I'm a big fan of Graphic Converter. It could use an interface overhaul, but it's got a lot of power for a shareware app. If you start getting into its batch features, it becomes extremely useful.

iView is not bad at all. Not Free ($49.00), but not bad.

iPhoto, while a very good consumer app has sort of killed the image manager market.
You mention using PS. I find the image browser is not a bad tool as well.

I use iPhoto. Have it set up so that I double click an image and it pops up in PS Elements (You can pick what program you want to open with). Then when I edit in PS elements, changes go back to iPhoto. And with iPhoto, you can revert to that original if, at some time you want to get the unaltered original.
I hear iView is good. I tried ACDSee and it sucks as a Mac program. They need to seriously update it!

Another vote for iView Media. It is so much better than iPhoto. The only drawback is that it's expensive. But if you have that many photos, I recommend taking iView Media for a spin.

I moved from Thumbsplus to iView Media Pro. The non-pro version does not have as many features as Thumbsplus (even though they are the same price) but the pro version blows it away IMO.

The sad truth is, many Photoshop "experts" could use Photoshop Elements on a regular basis. It's an amazing application.

That's why I suggested it.
