Limewire has sucked ten gigs out of me in three days due to a number of unauthorised connections to my computer. Plus, it's just a bit crappy. Share your secrets, one and all... What should we all be using?

Poisoned. Excellent.

Another route would be to go for BitTorrent.
The Azureus client (JAVA app) is working most excellently for me.

For P2P I use acqlite. It's an open-source version of Acquisition,

XFactor.

I would support Poisoned with it being open source and all, but their petty quarrels made me turn on it. (And lack of updates)

No. It's just an open source GPL project based on the ALREADY open source Acquisition project.

Acquisition isn't open source. LimeWire (Which they are both based off of) is though. Wantanabee at one time did open up his project (because he had to, to obey the GPL for a while) Now all you can get is the source for the "Core"
