MACsniff does not seem to be up to date in terms of Panther.

Ethereal seems rather hard to get to work on the Mac.

EtherPeek is $$$$.

Are there any other options?

I use ettercap - although it's an arse to install.

Ethereal works fine here. There are pretty OS X native things about if you search VT, but none of them are as good IMO.

Ethereal is awesome on WinXP or Linux.

What did you have to do to get it to work under OSX?

I got ethereal to work fairly easily.

First, install Apple's X11 (very easy).
Then, install Fink (very easy).
Then install Fink Commander (very easy).
Then use Fink Commander to get ethereal (so-so easy).

Then, once fink has installed ethereal, just open X11 from the Utilites folder. A terminal window will appear. In that window, type sudo /sw/bin/ethereal . It should launch. (If you don't run it as root/sudo, it won't see an Airport card.)

Then get someone to show you ethereal if you're not already familiar with it.

Since you ruled out EtherPeek because of the price, the next best thing as mentioned would be Ethereal.
