Hi!
In the thread on this forum about *5 Favorite FreeWare/ShareWare apps* there are dozens of recommendations for LaunchBar, so it must be really good. I just D/L and registered FruitMenu last week. Does a person need both of these apps, or would that be overkill? I'm thinking they do similar things. Is that correct?
Is LaunchBar that much ($20) better than QuickSilver (Free)? I tried Butler, but found it confusing to configure.
Thanks for any advice you can provide!

LaunchBar, from the keyboard, launches everything in its parameters to search; I think you define what FruitMenu has in its menu,
LaunchBar 4, in my opinion, is much faster and much more accurate with its search; QuickSilver doesn't even come up with a lot of things LaunchBar will come up with. LaunchBar is also more aesthetically pleasing to me, but others will beg to differ. Try em both, tell us your pros/cons of each and we'll see if you missed something.

Fruitmenu is designed to mimic the OS 9 Apple menu, while Launchbar is designed to be unobtrusive and allow your Mac to be mainly operated from the keyboard. Also, Fruitmenu is a haxie, which I personally don't use. In my opinion, using haxies is like bringing the old style extension conflict over to OS X.
