As the subject says, I'm trying to figure out a problem that started happening recently (can't remember last time I actually did these steps on this machine, but they have been done under 10.3.x):

The Setup:
G5 1.8 Ghz (single proc) stock, 1.5 Gig RAM
10.3.4 (7H63)
Keynote (all latest updates)
Adobe Illustrator 10.0.3

The Problem:
With a Keynote presentation open and an Illustrator document open, I copy any graphic (vector, bitmap, small, large, doesn't matter) from Illustrator and then try to paste it into Keynote. Keynote responds immediately with an error beep and then goes into spinny beach ball mode. The beach ball lasts indefinitely.

Force quitting Keynote precipitates a crash in Illustrator with a "PDF error" of some kind and that stupid dialogue box to submit the crash report to Apple.

The Complication:
This exact same procedure using the exact same files works fine on my Ghz TiBook running the same software! This means something is screwed up on the G5 but I cannot isolate it.

Attempted Fixes:
I've restarted the G5, reinstalled 10.3.4 combo updater, repaired permissions, replaced the G5 preferences for the Finder, Illustrator, and Keynote with versions from the Powerbook. Nothing has worked. I am able to copy and paste into Keynote from other apps (e.g., Excel, screen capture keys, etc.)

Any suggestions would be very welcome!!
