is there a program for the mac that will pie chart my harddrive for me? showing me where my largest files are located, smallest, etc.

give OmniDiskSweeper a try. I'm not sure there's a pie chart, but it'll help you find and cut down on bloat

Also, Disk Inventory X, it will graphically display your disk usage, though more usefully than a pie chart.

If you're looking for percentages, go to the terminal and type "df"

fsv (FileSystem Viewer) is kind of nifty. It's free, available via fink.

OmniDiskSweeper is my personal favorite, though.

activity monitor does it comes with panther.

as far as I can tell, that only shows how much is used and how much is free - not where big files are or anything.

Open the terminal window and type:

du -k . | sort -k1,9 -nr | more

No need to buy or install any software.
